Seminar for Chief Risk Officers and Heads of Risk Departments of Public Sector Banks

Learning, Risk Management

Friday, July 31, 2015 to Saturday, August 01, 2015
Taj Lands End, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Risk management has assumed great importance in recent times because of the sharp deterioration in the asset quality of banks. External conditions like the state of the economy coupled with certain deficiencies in risk management practices have contributed to this asset quality stress. Public Sector Banks (PSBs) have assumed huge exposure to certain sectors, especially infrastructure sector, and due to a combination of adverse internal and external factors this has exposed them to higher level of stress. The recent decision by the Government to link capital infusion in PSBs to performance has also added some pressure on them as far as capital planning and maintenance is concerned. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Secretary, Department of Financial Services.

Seminar Objective
The objective of the seminar is to provide a platform to the participants to discuss best practices in risk management, recent developments relating to regulation, existing risk capabilities and capacities and sensitise them to their roles and responsibilities in risk management.
