Background:

The HR landscape has been changing rapidly due to recent public health, social, economic and financial sector developments including the far reaching impact of the COVID 19 outbreak.  One of the worldwide surveys done by a leading consulting firm brings out a high probability of post pandemic disruption upending workforce planning. Therefore, for the HR function in any organisation today, the priority is to understand the future trends and future of work. Arguably, the COVID-19 pandemic will have a lasting impact on the future of work. One of the existing trends, digitalisation & digital transformation, has got a greater boost during the pandemic. As it is, use of advanced technologies including machine learning and artificial intelligence has, for quite some time, been tending to disrupt the extant work processes and conventional human resource allocations. This has been prompting HR actions and initiatives on strategic workforce redeployment, repositioning, and reskilling. No other time in the past has the HR function including learning acquired such strategic importance.

Objective:

Against this backdrop, CAFRAL is conducting a half day Virtual Conference (VC) of the Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) and Chief Learning Officers (CLOs). This CAFRAL VC offers a platform to HR leaders to deliberate on these trends and their potential to alter their organizations’ strategic goals and plans. The Conference would also seek to explore what immediate and longer-term qualitative workforce adjustments are required as a result. This clearly includes an agenda setting for learning, deskilling and reskilling.

CAFRAL would engage in a fruitful dialogue through this VC to understand what role the participants envisage it could play to support banks, FIs and NBFCs in building capacity amongst their top and senior executives. Accordingly, there would be discussion with and amongst the CHROs and CLOs regarding skill gaps and training need analysis.

Highlights:

  • Keynote Address: Future of Work and Emerging Trends in Human Resources Allocation & Upskilling
  • Discussion on skill gaps and training needs
  • Discussion on learning calendar of CAFRAL and going forward, CAFRAL’s potential role in bridging the new skill gaps in banks, FIs and NBFCs, including introducing new learning programs.
