The CAFRAL Web Conference seeks to engage with the Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) and Chief Learning Officers (CLOs) of the banks on challenges and opportunities thrown up by the COVID outbreak for HR Management and Learning Management.
The emerging ‘New Normal’ challenges several existing HR practices by bringing in work from home (WFH) culture, setting up virtual office space (VOS) and generating surplus office hours (SOH). SOH particularly holds out an exciting opportunity for HR managers to channelise surplus “office hours at home” (OHAT) for reskilling, retooling and redeploying human resources. Competency mapping and calibrated learning programs that help develop both traditional and new competencies should be one of the immediate top organisational priorities for the HR managers. This calls for smart strategic thinking at leadership level. In turn, there may be need to ideate certain new competencies for leaders.
The Conference starts with the key note address on leadership issue followed by a short technical session on competency mapping and development focusing on post COVID situations. It ends with a quick virtual roundtable of CHROs and CLOs to glean the takeaways relating to WFH, SOH and OHAT etc.
